Craigieburn Family Ride

The Hume buggies did it again, they braved the cold drizzly weather to enjoy the outdoors of our neighborhood.
a special welcome to our first timers, Wayne, Pam, their son and Alex.
Alex rode in the wet weather from Coburg to join us for the ride in Craigieburn, good effort Alex!
Iain our local riding chmapion, rode from Gladstone Park, ba...ttling a northerly head wind and spray.
Everyone made it in just in time for the ride.
we started by heading west and slightly south on the Aitken creek path, it was little challenging to manage the crossing of Bridgewater road but we did it safely, however shortly after that i came of my bike and injured my pride not to mention bruised knees and elbows.

We stopped at the water front cafe for well earned refreshment then we embarked on the challenging tracks of Craigieburn "most of the curb side paths were under construction.

Eventually we made back on the Malcolm Creek path, as we cross the pedestrian bridge, the hawk eyes of our football enthusiast “Wayne”spotted a Sherin ball floating in the lake beneath.
The brave heart "Wayne" quickly stripped of his cloth and jumped in the freezing water and chased after the trophy of the day. Well done Wayne, your ride paid good dividend.

Shortly after the Sherin incident Anita, Steve, Wayne, Pam and their kids peeled off from the group to go home.

The elite athletes Iain and Alex rode back south with screaming tail wind pushing them along. I suspect they would have broken the sound barrier multiple times.

Shortly after Kevin, Graham, his son and I return to the starting point.
Good effort from all participants.
A special thanks to Kevin for helping me with this ride. Thank you all for your patience with me. This was the first ride I ever led, excuse my sloppy leadership skills
